The Lemonade Initiative was started by three LAUSD moms who are mad as hell about the current state of education in Los Angeles.

But as the old saying goes... When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Help us send a message to LAUSD, UTLA, and state an national representatives by setting up a simple lemonade stand in front of your school every Friday.

Our strength is in number, so please encourage friends at other schools to join us.

We want LAUSD to use the federal stimulus monies to save all teacher jobs this year, work toward reducing class size and give more decision making power to schools.

We want UTLA to make meaningful changes in their tenure policy to give schools more power in the hiring and firing process and protect new teachers who are the future of our education system.

We want LAUSD and UTLA to put politics and personality aside to join forces and enact real reform in our education system.

We demand reform to help return LAUSD to its former days as jewel of this nation’s educational system.
