MAY 15th
BALBOA PARK Soccer Fields
10 am
Help us send a message to LAUSD, UTLA, and state and national representatives by joining us on May 15th for a Parent Rally at Balboa Park Soccer Fields in Encino.
While we support the plight of teachers, because we do not agree with current UTLA policies, we cannot stand with them and join their rally.
If you're frustrated with the current state of public education in Los Angeles, and want to be a part of this historic uprising by parents across the city then join us and TAKE A STAND!
RSVP to the Lemonade Rally (include the number of people you are bringing with you).
LOCATION:
BALBOA Park Soccer Fields are located on Balboa Blvd North of Burbank Blvd on the West Side of the Street.
101 FWY Exit: Balboa Blvd and head North (away from Ventura Blvd) - Cross Burbank Blvd. and see the soccer
fields about a block up on your left.
Bring homemade signs and banners to carry with us on our march up Balboa Blvd. to the District 1 office (about 3 blocks away).
The Lemonade Rally and March
The Lemonade Stand
Help us send a message to LAUSD, UTLA, and state an national representatives by setting up a simple lemonade stand in front of your school every Friday.
Our strength is in number, so please encourage friends at other schools to join us.
If there was ever a time to make your voice heard, NOW is the time to make a stand!
WHO: Every school
WHAT: Set up a lemonade stand and sell lemonade (price up to you).
WHEN: Every Friday after school until LAUSD and UTLA enact meaningful education reform.
WHERE: In front of school
HOW WILL THIS HELP:
By setting up lemonade stands citywide each Friday, we will visually show that LAUSD parents are taking a stand for education and willing to make lemonade with the lemons we’ve been dealt.
Idea:
Print out the “What do we want?” section on the left side of the blog and post at your stand. Have people sign a petition to show their support and weekly send to UTLA and LAUSD officials.
RSVP to start a stand at your school (include the name of your school).
